Yearly Food Basket Distribution

The Budweiser Corporation teamed up with Coca Cola Bottling Company and Walgreens of Espanola and did a big Thanksgiving Food Drive for the San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen.  This event occurred on November 14, 2015.  The KVSF 101.5 Radio Station joined in bringing donors to the Espanola Walgreens parking lot; Noah Elmore did a fantastic job as disc jockey and an even greater job of “Getting down” and getting others to join in!

This wonderful team brought in 1200 pounds of non-perishable goods, 2 pellets of Coca Cola Products and $50 in cash.  The Soup Kitchen will use these items for their Annual Christmas Holiday Food Box give away to the poor and needy of the Espanola Valley and surrounding Communities.

The San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen wishes to thank all these wonderful Promoters, Budweiser, Coca Cola and Walgreens and all the wonderful people of the Espanola Valley for their generosity!  This is what makes our Outreach so effective!  God Bless you all!

On October 16, 2015 the San Martin de Porres Soup Kitchen was visited by the Staff of Southwestern Title and Escrow.  They came bearing breakfast for Board Members and Captains and we were fortunate enough to receive one of the 20 $500 checks they awarded to other Non-Profit Organizations.  This presentation was their way of celebrating 20 years of operation.  What a noble and honorable way to celebrate their anniversary!  They took each organization and posted information at their 2 offices to promote the specific ways each agency works.

We would like to take this opportunity to thank each member of their staff especially Cav Cavanaugh!  Thank you Southwestern Title and Escrow!

On November 25, 2015, the Girl Scouts Troop # 10492, Hosted a Holiday Crafts Fair for the children of the Apple Valley community and surrounding neighborhood.  These most creative young ladies, with the help of their wonderful sponsors, provided hot chocolate and cookies for the children while they taught them how to make gingerbread houses, decorate ornaments, make snowflakes for their Christmas trees and Turkey centerpieces for their Thanksgiving Table.  Everyone had a wonderful time.

These wonderful young ladies and their sponsors come in once a month to serve at Soup Kitchen.  They also decorate our Soup Kitchen with clever and unique ornaments for all our Holidays and special occasions!

We are so thankful and proud of these young ladies and their sponsors for doing such a spectacular job!  We know they will be very effective citizens and wonderful leaders when they grow up!  May God bless each of you for all you do for us at Soup Kitchen!
